Empowering and strengthening local democracy

The days of teenagers working on milk floats, paper rounds and other casual jobs seem long past.
Being well aware of the responsibilities and safe guarding, I would hope a Skelmersdale Town Council would offer casual work to 14 – 18 year olds.
Numbers would depend on suitable supervisors and a budget cap, but the aim would be to offer youth’s casual work, to those that wanted it on non-school days. The hope would be not only to give the young person some cash in their pockets, but to give them a sense of responsibility for the place they live.  There is plenty of work and it's never ending.
